The marinas found on the island are all full-service, with a varying number of boat slips, depending on each harbor’s size. At Harbour Town, Broad Creek Marina, Palmetto Bay Marina, Shelter Cove Harbour and South Beach, a variety of powerboats and waverunners can be rented, and most of the harbors possess charter boats for island and off-shore expeditions. Some marinas also feature boating or sailing instruction; kayaking and waterskiing can also be learned at South Beach Marina in addition to their charters and rentals. Some of the harbors — like shelter Cove, Harbour Town and South Beach are all-encompassing as well, spotlighting fine dining, shopping and outdoor entertainment during warm-weather months.
